Why I Built Vocarrot

I have been learning Polish for a few years. After finishing Duolingo, I tried other apps to keep learning. Most of the apps have some sort of journey that you have to follow and that is a good thing if you want to follow. I want to lead my own learning and those apps keep me going through words that I already know.

I have been trying various language learning apps. None of them help me to build my own vocabulary sets easily as well as keep the quiz function as simple as possible. Do not get me wrong, I like the apps and they are great for I would even say most people. I missed a way to quickly add a list of words from my book or from some video I was watching. I would like to come back to those words on the metro while going somewhere. I built a tool for people like me who are high motivation and interested in language learning theory. Enter Vocarrot.

What is Vocarrot?

Vocarrot is a new vocabulary learning app for busy people who want to collect their own lists. Vocabulary is the basis of fluency. Spacing your review session and testing yourself is the most efficient way to learn. Another aspect of language learning is the aspect of comprehensible input. Only you know what is comprehensible for you. You need to take the responsibility of the vocabulary. Vocarrot makes all this easy. To keep you motivated, statistics and study reminders keep you learning.
