AI Import

AI is used as an enhancer to quickly do tasks that would normally take long time like:

  • adding a bunch of words from a text that you are reading.
    • For example: you are reading the news in your target language, and you want to understand the text.
      • Instead of learning the translation with Google Translate, add the words to Vocarrot.
      • Then review the words.
      • Understand the text where you saw it as you read it.
      • Come back to that same list of words later to ensure that you learned those new words that you encounter.
  • ideating new words in a certain topic that you are studying for.
    • For example: you are going to meet a few native friends at a zoo.
      • You don't really know what vocabulary would be helpful. Anything related to the zoo is would be because then you can also bring up topics then.
      • Add a list on that topic, and learn the words on the way there.
      • This way tie the learning to a real world event.

Importing from Text

Steps

  1. Click "Import from Text"
  2. Choose the name for the new list
  3. Choose or check your languages:
    • Prompt Language: The language of the text
    • Answer Language: Your language for translations
  4. Paste or type your text
  5. Wait that the AI finds words in the text
  6. Review the created list and start learning

Document Import Steps

  1. Create a new list
  2. Click "Import from Image/PDF"
  3. Upload your file
  4. Name your list (optional)
  5. Choose your languages
  6. The AI reads the document and finds words
  7. Review the created list

Process of importing

Large language model uses an AI Optical character recognition. It reads the document and discovers words that are in the target language to add to the list.

The AI tries to find:

  • Important words: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs
  • Useful phrases: common expressions
  • Words at your level your proficiency level

The AI tries to skips:

  • Very common words (like "the", "a", "is")
  • Words you probably already know based on your proficiency level
